Materials & care

Main material: Water hyacinth. The trays are woven from plant fibers that retain a natural scent and tactile warmth. Water hyacinth is a fast-growing tropical aquatic plant originally from South America, later introduced to Southeast Asia. In many regions it is abundant and considered invasive, so harvesting and using the dried stems creates a sustainable supply for woven goods.

Preparation: leaves are removed and thick stems are sun-dried for three to seven days before weaving, producing a durable, natural raw material. Other materials: invisible metal frame for structural support.

Care tips: keep dry and avoid prolonged exposure to direct moisture to preserve shape and finish; wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Do not submerge in water.
